Building and Grounds

1) What this ministry is…

Building and grounds watches over and maintains the physical plant and surroundings. This committee arranges for repairs, improvements, alterations and any other necessary upkeep on the building and its contents and grounds. Those on the committee look for problems within the building and either fix the problem or make the appropriate arrangements for repair.

2) Are meetings held? How much time is involved?

There is a clean up event scheduled each spring and fall. Anyone may help the committee with the various jobs that have accumulated and need to be done. Those duties may include washing windows, cleaning cupboards, weeding, minor fix-it jobs, sweeping, and scrubbing areas that need it. The time commitment for these clean ups will vary based on the things that need to be done. However, you could probably expect to spend from two to three hours at this work, twice a year.

3) Are any special talents or qualifications needed?

Obviously, anyone willing to do any of the work needed around the church and grounds is appreciated. If you have fix-it or gardening interests or hobbies, your expertise would be a welcome addition to the committee.

4) How does someone get involved?

There are a couple of ways to be involved with this committee. If you wish to be on the Building and Grounds committee, you should contact the wardens. If you wish to help out on a limited basis, just show up for one or both of the clean up events and offer your services for whatever needs to be done. Both clean up days are announced in The Lion’s Roar and in the Sunday bulletin prior to the cleaning date.

5) Who is the contact person (or persons)?
