Altar Guild
1) What this ministry is…
The altar guild prepares the altar for the services on Sunday and Tuesday and cleans up after each service. Specific set-up tasks include changing the altar and filling the liquid candles. Clean up includes washing the communion vessels and changing the linens and washing and ironing them.
2) Are meetings held? How much time is involved?
Set up and clean up each take about 15 minutes. Usually, guild members will be scheduled on a rotating bases based on the number of members. Once a year there is a training and review meeting for all members of the altar guild.
3) Are any special talents or qualifications needed?
There are no specific talents or qualifications needed to be on the altar guild besides an interest in doing the work and being a dependable member for the times that you are scheduled to do the work.
4) How does someone get involved?
