Christian Education

11) What this ministry is...

Growing in our faith and understanding is a lifetime endeavor. St. Mark’s makes an effort to offer a variety of educational experiences to persons of all age levels, including programs we do cooperatively with other campus ministries. We have Christian educational classes for all ages, including a forum for adults on Sunday mornings.

2) Are meetings held? How much time is involved?

Church school staff meetings are held about once a quarter after the 10:30 service. Occasionally we will have an evening gathering, but the staff prefers Sunday mornings. (It is one of the few mostly protected times left.) Time commitments for Sunday School teachers vary with the individual. The commitment is for one hour on Sunday and preparation time (maybe an hour).

3) Are any special talents or qualifications needed?

Special talents or qualifications are a willingness to share oneself with children, an eagerness to watch children and youth grow and develop, and a desire to share the story of our faith with young people.

4) How does someone get involved?

Getting involved is easy. Just talk to a teacher, Natalie Shepard, or the Rector.

6) Who is the contact person (or persons)?

Natalie Shepard, 488-8333, and any Sunday School teacher. (We are always in recruitment mode—plant some seeds and then water; hopefully there will be a harvest.)

Our recruitment time is usually during the summer and especially in August.
