1) What this ministry is...
The Gathering Place has served the homeless and hungry at 15th and E Streets for 25 years. With an average of 110 people served per evening, Monday thru Friday, The Gathering Place will serve 27,000 meals this year.
3) What other ways does St. Mark's support this mission?
SMOC has several members on The Gathering Place's Advisory Board. SMOC also includes annual financial support ($1500 for the current year) in it's annual budget for The Gathering Place as a local outreach ministry.
3) Are meetings held? How much time is involved?
SMOC needs six (6) volunteers to serve on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. We start set up at 4:45 pm, and the last pan is clean around 6:15 pm.
4) Are any special talents or qualifications needed?
There are no special qualifications needed to serve on this committee. Training and mentors are always available each evening for new volunteers.
