Music

1) What this ministry is...

The choir at St. Mark’s provides musical leadership for the celebration of the liturgies of the community of the church. We have many opportunities for other musicians.

2) Are meetings held? How much time is involved?

From September through Pentecost, the choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 and also warms up for the 10:30 service at 9:45 on Sunday. Cantors receive their Psalms in advance of the service, so each can practice individually.

3) Are any special talents or qualifications needed?

While there are no entrance requirements, such as auditions, most choir members can read music and all can match pitch. The choir works toward being an ensemble. Potential members should revel in the joy of singing and have a commitment to the best musical result for each service.

4) How does someone get involved?

Talk to Kurt Knecht or any choir member, or just come on Wednesday.

5) Who is the contact person (or persons)?

Kurt Knecht. ... Click here for Kurt's website www.kurtknecht.com
