Pantry

1) What this ministry is...

The Pantry provides emergency food for needy people in response to requests by human services agencies. Parishioners from Holy Trinity and St. Matthew's, as well as those from St. Mark's, contribute nonperishable food items, as well as the Food Bank, but the food is stored and bags are assembled at St. Mark's.

2) Are meetings held? How much time is involved?

There are no meetings. Time involved includes picking food up from the Food Bank and putting it away in the Pantry and making up bags for disbursement. On an average, that time is about 2 hours a week.

3) Are any special talents or qualifications needed?

Because the ministry involves transporting and storing quantities of food, two types of volunteers can be especially helpful: those who are able to lift and carry boxes of canned food, and those who own larger vehicles that can accommodate large orders of food from the Food Bank.

4) How does someone get involved?

Contact Anne Puls at 483-6860.

5) What could improve this ministry?

Having more than one person involved in the work would make it easier on all involved.

6) Who is the contact person (or persons)?

Anne Puls at 483-6860, or the church office at 474-1979.
