1) What this ministry is...
Prayer Chain consists of members of the congregation who have agreed to offer prayers upon request for emergencies as well as ongoing needs.
2) Are meetings held? How much time is involved?
Prayer Chain doesn't meet. Instead, when a prayer need arises, the leader (currently Gwen Tilley) is contacted, and she will pray as requested, then contact the next person on the prayer chain phone list. That person prays and then calls the next person on the list. In addition, each member of the prayer chain receives a monthly list with prayer requests. Each member prays for the people and needs listed on a daily basis or as frequently as he or she chooses. Time involved varies, as needs come up on an unpredictable basis. But the system is flexible, and adaptable to one's schedule.
3) Are any special talents or qualifications needed?
Fr. Jerry and Gwen could speak to this. Primarily, it takes willingness and belief.
4) How does someone get involved?
Let Fr. Jerry or Gwen know you are interested, and provide a phone number at which one can easily be contacted.
5) What could improve this ministry?
Fr. Jerry or Gwen could speak to this.
6) Who is the contact person (or persons)?
Gwen Tilley or Fr. Jerry or anyone on the prayer chain list
