Open positions at St. Mark’s on the campus

St. Mark's is actively seeking qualified candidates for two positions: Office Administrator and Director of Music/Organist. Please see below for relevant information about the positions and how to apply!

Director of Music/Organist

Description: Responsible for all Sunday service music, including playing prelude and postlude, service music, and hymns on our Bedient tracker organ, as well as rehearsing and conducting the church choir.

Time commitment: 20 hours/week. This includes playing at all Sunday 10:30 a.m. services, additional services for liturgical events such as Holy Week, and other special occasions.

  • The music director also conducts 1 hour of choir rehearsal per week between Labor Day and Trinity Sunday (usually around Memorial Day), as well as a brief rehearsal prior to the service on Sundays.

Pay: This is a salaried position at $1,850/month.

  • The music director will receive 3 paid Sundays’ leave each year.

  • Reporting: The music director will report to the Rector.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with general organ repertoire, from Baroque to contemporary

  • Degree in keyboard performance or equivalent experience

  • Preferred: 5 years organ experience in a church setting
