St. Mark's is actively seeking qualified candidates for two positions: Office Administrator and Director of Music/Organist. Please see below for relevant information about the positions and how to apply!
Office Administrator
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Office Administrator provides the first point of contact and assistance to all visitors in the office. Routine duties will also include operational support for the parish such as assisting with use of space, facilities procedures, scheduling, worship serving, logistics, contractor work, etc.
REPORTING: The Office Administrator reports directly to and collaborates with the Parish Rector; together, they function as a team to ensure all church operations run smoothly. The OA also reports to the Wardens and the Vestry (lay leaders) as a second point of report. Additionally, the OA works closely with the Church Accountant and Treasurer in regards to church finances, giving, and bills to be paid.
SUPERVISION: The OA is the direct supervisor of the Recital Monitor student interns
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Answer incoming phone calls; direct to appropriate personnel, or take message for appropriate personnel.
Create and edit weekly service bulletins in collaboration with Rector and Director of Music.
Create corresponding PPT for service
Coordinate and schedule weekly schedules for worship service (altar guild, crucifer and acolytes, ushers, etc.)
Coordinate and schedule all incoming requests for Use of Space (renters using the Parish Hall or Sanctuary for events.)
Ensure that all events are reflected in Facilities Calendar correctly
Coordinate with Sexton for logistics of event’s needs
Coordinate, direct, and schedule Recital Monitors to be present at all scheduled recitals
Coordinate scheduling for regular piano tunings and maintenance, and additional service as needed
Monitor and administrate all of the church’s media

Coordinate regular church maintenance with outside contractors and vendors.
Monitor all church office supplies and order “refills” as needed
Order other supplies as needed per request of Sextons and other personnel
Monitor and update building Access Control system as needed
Facilitate disbursements of Food Pantry packages, and coordinate with Food Pantry volunteers regarding Food Pantry needs
Meet with the Communications Committee weekly
Serve as Secretary to the Vestry: Attend monthly meetings, compile and take minutes, provide reports as needed
Required Qualifications:
Because the office manager will interact with clergy, congregants, vendors, and the public, the Office Manager must be comfortable communicating with a wide range of people for a wide range of purposes.
Applicant MUST be proficient with MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, and OneDrive)
Applicant MUST be able to learn new software and understand various technologies
Applicant must be organized and able to keep files (digital and physical) organized neatly and intuitively
The ideal candidate will have experience in positions that require creativity and analytical thinking, the ability to organize events and logistics, and self-reliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous office experience
Previous experience doing administrative work in a church setting
Knowledge of how to administer social media, as well as managing electronic calendars, video meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams, and church management software such as REALM.
Hours and Salary/Benefit Package:
Hours are flexible and salary and benefit package will be commensurate with applicant’s experience and qualifications.
